I’ve been meaning to write this post for about 12 days, but life just was not cooperating with that. I’m sure you know what that’s like.
2019 is turning out to be a year full of happenings. I decided at the end of last year that I was not going to waste time in 2019. I am going to plan fun trips with my husband and our friends. I am going to read a lot of books. I am going to write, and then write some more. I am going to spend a lot of time with my family. I am going to do things I want to do.
So when I was praying about this, and praying about a word for 2019 the Lord gave me this verse in Isaiah. I will write it out in The Passion Translation (yes, TPT has not released the Old Testament yet, but they posted this verse on Facebook)
“Yahweh is the one who makes a way in the sea, a pathway in the mighty waters. He destroyed chariots and horses and all their mighty warriors. They fell, never to rise again – got forever, snuffed out like a wick. This is what he says: “Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:16-19, TPT).
I had this verse for a few days before He gave me the word: FRESH.
He’s doing a new thing this year, and it feels like a re-freshing. Now that school is over, I am able to focus on dreams that have been on the back burner. Like leading a small group or writing a book. I can focus on my marriage, my family, my friends – all things that took a huge hit while I was in school.
Here is what I have learned. God is a redeemer. It is WHO HE IS. He does not act outside of it. Which means that all I lost trying to earn my Masters will be redeemed. All the time I lost, all the relationships that suffered, all the dreams that went on the back burner – they get redeemed. It’s just who He is.
I believe in a God that brings dead things back to life. Sometimes that looks like Jesus, and sometimes that looks like a dream I had when I was 12. Regardless, He brings life.
What in your life needs to be redeemed? What in your life needs to look fresh this year? What new thing do you need to happen right now? He can absolutely do it. And the best part? He will do it. Because He loves you.
He loves you because He loves you because He loves you because He loves you….
Friends, don’t buy the lie that says it’s over. Don’t buy the lie that says it’s too late. Don’t buy the lie that say’s you can’t get back what you lost or what was stolen. He is redeemer, and He doesn’t lose.
xoxo
